Abstract The higher acceleration of the non-sinusoidal oscillation results in the larger inertia force, which will lead to larger reversing impact at the top and bottom position, and influence on the motion stability of oscillator. To reduce the maximum acceleration of the non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform, a novel waveform function with three sections was proposed. And the displacement, velocity and acceleration curves were continuous and smooth, which had no rigid and flexible impact. Besides, the calculation methods of technological parameters and multi process curves were determined. Then the synchronous control model of non-sinusoidal oscillation was presented. The results show that the synchronous control model of non-sinusoidal oscillation makes the oscillation mark reduce by 11.39% and increases the consumption of mold powder by 35.68%, which will enhance the slab quality, reduce the friction between the mold and slab. This research provides the feasible reference for realizing highly efficient continuous casting.
