Abstract |
This paper explores the transverse wave propagation in magnetoelastic monoclinic layer with parabolic irregularity sandwiched between transversely isotropic piezoelectric layer and magnetoelastic self-reinforced half-space. Fourier Transform and perturbation technique are used to compute the displacement in all the three media. Closed form expressions for dispersion relation of both the cases of electrically open and short circuit have been computed. Numerical simulation is performed for specific geophysical model and results are drawn graphically to explore the coupled effect of dielectric, piezoelectric coefficient, reinforcement, magnetoelasticity and irregularity factors on the phase velocity of SH wave. Particular cases have been deduced to inspect wave propagation in the absence of piezoelectricity, irregularity and the results are compared with previously published outcomes. The dispersion curves are compared for variations in magnetoelastic coupling and irregularity parameters. Conclusion is drawn by comparing the electrically open and short cases. Findings depict that the aforementioned parameters have notable effect on phase velocity of SH waves in the present geophysical setup. |
