Title Propagation of a Long Elastic Surface Wave between a Material and a Laminated Structure of Layers Working in Bending
Author(s) R. L. Salganik (Moscow)
Abstract We consider propagation of a long surface wave along the boundary of contact between a homogeneous isotropic elastic material and an elastic laminated structure the layers of which can slip on each other without friction and resist bending, the influence of loading along the layers on their deflection being negligibly small. This phenomenon is studied in continuous approximation. We obtain an equation for the dispersion law and show that a wave of this kind exists. Asymptotic relations are obtained for the dispersion law in two cases - for the wave close to a Rayleigh wave and for the wave substantially different from the Rayleigh wave.
