Abstract This study examines the reflection and refraction of longitudinal waves obliquely incident at the interface between a nonlocal micropolar elastic solid half-space and a viscous liquid half-space. By applying appropriate boundary conditions, closed-form expressions for the reflection and refraction coefficients have driven and highlighting their significant dependence on the nonlocality parameter, Lamé’s constants, and the micropolar characteristics of the medium. A specific numerical model graphically illustrates the influence of the incident wave angle on these coefficients. The findings not only confirm certain previously established results, validating the current formulation, but also enhance understanding of wave behavior in complex media.
