Abstract The liquid-filled enclosed structure is a new type of composite armor that developed in recent years. However, the research of it is few and lacks systematic research. In this paper, research of numerical simulation was carried out based on the previous experiments. We believed that the principle of liquid-filled enclosed structure disturbing shaped charge jet could be explained from the micro and macro perspectives. The shock wave in liquid continuously impacted and reflected in the structure which drove liquid to expand and rebound from Micro-perspective, previous theory was created from this perspective; From Macro-perspective, it was a process in which liquid reached its volume compression limit under reaming pressure and enclosed structure and then rapidly recovered to the initial state. Next, we focused on the influence of inner length and inner radius of structure on the interference ability through control variables based on the previous experimental structure. The results showed that the latter had a greater impact on the ability of jet disturbing compared with the former, and the larger the internal radius, the weaker the ability. Finally, we constructed a new theory from Macro-perspective considering the shortcomings of the previous theories from Micro-perspective, which not only effectively overcame the shortcomings of previous theories, but also simplified calculation process and reduced computational difficulty.
