Abstract The destruction of the material is a complex, multi-stage process, including scattered micro-failure of structural elements. The destruction of structural elements can occur by the formation of plane microcracks of separation, shear, or in the presence of both mechanisms. The article presents methods for determining the concentration of microdefects in a damaged material based on the laws of distribution of tensile strength (yield) in the structural elements of the material and on the basis of experimental data to determine the main mechanical characteristics of the material in tension of standard samples.
Keywords damaged material, concentration of microdefects, residual deformations
