Abstract A novel non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform function was proposed to control the maximum acceleration, which had the advantages of continuity, no rigid impact and flexible impact, and good dynamics characteristics. Because the maximum acceleration of non-sinusoidal oscillation is larger, which makes the inertial force bigger and affects the mold movement smoothness. Thus, during the waveform function constructed, the maximum acceleration was taken in to account to ensure the dynamic characteristics of the oscillation waveform. And the oscillation waveform function was verified by the mechanical oscillator. The rotating rules of servomotor to realize this waveform function was determined. The experiment results show that the waveform function can be obtained well, the inertia forces of different directions for oscillation table is smaller and the oscillator runs smoothly.
