Abstract A solution is found by the method of perturbations with an accuracy up to values of the second order of smallness, which describes the state of an inhomogeneous elastoplastic thick-walled pipe under the action of compressive forces. Deviations of the contour of the cross-section of the pipe from the circumference and inhomogeneity of the material are characterized by independent small parameters. A condition is obtained under which, in the case of an experimental analysis of the pipe state, the average values of stresses and displacements will be close to those in the axisymmetric state.
Keywords thick-walled pipe, small parameter method, convergence, stochastic inhomogeneity
