Title Modeling the accretion of cylindrical bodies on a rotating mandrel with centrifugal forces taken into account
Author(s) A. V. Manzhirov (Moscow)

Abstract We use the approaches of mechanics of accreted solids to study processes in which elastic and viscoelastic cylindrical bodies and coatings are manufactured by depositing the material onto a rotating mandrel with arbitrary tension. The model takes into account centrifugal forces. The corresponding nonclassical accretion boundary value problem is stated. Its analytical solution is constructed. An efficient method for determining the residual stresses in the manufactured article is suggested. The results of computations for two model problems are given. We show that it is fundamentally necessary to consider the gradual new material inflow to the body and the action of centrifugal forces on the body simultaneously.
