Title Modeling of high-rise buildings as distributed systems subject to damage
Author(s) O. V. Trifonov (Moscow)
Abstract The dynamic behavior of high-rise buildings under intensive seismic loads is considered. The bearing structure of the building has the shape of a duplex diaphragm and is represented by a distributed three-layer system subject to damage, with the bending and shear deformation of the layers being taken into account. The equations of motion of the system are derived. Relationships to describe the cumulative damage in the case of inelastic deformation are proposed. The results of the numerical simulation of the dynamic response of the structure to the external excitation modeled by a nonstationary random process is considered. Indices of risk of fractional or final fracture of the building are estimated on the basis of the statistical simulation method.
