Title Extended problem of the identification of mechanical characteristics of materials on the basis of testing of structures
Author(s) R. A. Kayumov (Kazan)
Abstract Problems of the identification of mechanical characteristics of materials on the basis of test data for structures made of these materials have drawn rather much attention [1-16]. These problems are in essence inverse problems which can be ill-conditioned and need regularization methods to be solved. This approach is particularly attractive for determining mechanical characteristics of composite materials like tapes and braids, since it permits one to overcome technical difficulties of identifying these characteristics in the direction orthogonal to the reinforcement direction. In addition, this approach indirectly takes into account technological features manufacturing the structures.

In the present study, an approach is suggested which makes it possible to obtain good agreement between computational and experimental data by extending the problem of identification. It is shown on the basis of an example of the processing of the results of a realistic experiment that this approach gives the discrepancies between computational and experimental parameters which are several times smaller than those for the traditional approach.
