Title Local buckling of drifts with a composite lining in an elastoplastic rock

Abstract The local buckling of a drift with a composite lining is investigated in the case of the elastoplastic behavior of the rock and the lining materials. The investigation is based on 3D buckling equations. The influence of the rock and lining parameters on the critical contact pressure is assessed.

Rock mechanics problems related to mine working involve the analysis of local buckling of the rock near drifts in the case of elastoplastic deformation of the materials [1-4]. This analysis involves the determination of the optimal contact pressure on the lining and the cross-sectional dimensions of the drift. Unlike [2], the present paper deals with the investigation of the local buckling of the rock in the drift near-shaft zone, with the composite structure of the lining being taken into account. This investigation is based on the exact 3D equations [5].

The idea of the determination of the rock pressure by solving the buckling problem is due to L. V. Ershov.
