Title On the drift of a hemispherical resonator gyro on a rotating base during the quadrature control in fast-time and slow-time modes
Author(s) V. Ph. Zhuravlev (Moscow)
Abstract Two basic algorithms for quadrature control in a hemispherical resonator gyro (HRG) are discussed. In one of these algorithms, the quantity subject to control is electrostatic forces applied to the resonator, while in the other algorithm, this is the electrostatic component of the stiffness. It is established that on a rotating base, the basic defects of the resonator-variations in frequency and Q-factor-lead to a drift that has a constant component, as well as the fourth and eighth harmonics with respect to the angle of rotation of the base.
