Abstract |
In [1], a family of Lyapunov functions has been constructed
for the stability analysis of unperturbed motions of time-varying
systems on the basis of their linear approximation. In [2], this
approach has been applied to construct mechanical systems having
globally asymptotically stable design motions. In the present paper,
these results are applied for the stabilization of the cylindrical
precession of a satellite in an elliptic orbit.
[This problem has been solved previously by S. A. Agafonov
for a satellite moving in a circular orbit. See S. A. Agafonov, Stability
Analysis of Motion of Nonconservative Mechanical Systems.
