Title |
On the motion of a homogeneous rotating disk along a plane in the case of combined friction |

Abstract |
By moving the origin of the coordinate frame to the instantaneous
center of rotation, we integrate the relations for the force
and torque of friction. Appropriate Padé approximations are constructed.
A new qualitative fact is established that the instantaneous center
of rotation lies on the circumference of the disk at the instant
of coming to a complete stop, the slip and rotation velocities vanishing
simultaneously. |
