| Abstract |
We examine the retraction of rotor blades inside a hollow wing
of a flying vehicle combining the properties of an airplane and
a helicopter. The retraction is powered by the kinetic energy of the
moving blades and, therefore, requires no special engines or
transmission mechanisms. We consider a plane motion of the rotor system
described by second-order differential equations obtained from Lagrange's
equations of the second kind. On the basis of the numerical analysis of
the mathematical model, we construct curves characterizing the retraction
process and examine its properties. |
