Abstract This paper presents a solution to the problem of elastic-plastic deformation of a circular plate under normal loading with unloading. The plate’s behavior is analyzed during the transition from elastic to plastic deformations upon subsequent unloading. A Föppl – von Karman type plate model was used for mathematical modeling, and the Tresca – Saint-Venant yield criterion was used as the plasticity criterion. Rigid and generalized elastic embedment type conditions were considered as boundary conditions. The results of numerical calculations allow predicting the deformation of the plate material under various degrees of unloading.
Keywords boundary conditions of the generalized elastic embedment type, unloading, Föppl – von Karman model, Tresca – Saint-Venant yield criterion
