Abstract The problem investigated is devoted to study the transient wave caused by a heat source inside generalized elasto-thermodiffusive isotropic solid in infinite domain employing the model of Lord Shulman. The problem is in the context of theory of generalized thermo elasticity with one relaxation time. The combination of Laplace and Fourier transform methods are applied to obtain the solution of the basic governing equations. The inverse of Fourier transform is obtained analytically while the inverse Laplace transform is computed numerically for brass and presented graphically for displacement, temperature and concentration.
