Abstract |
This study presents a theoretical model that looks at wave transmission between two types
of materials. The first material, called elastic half space (EH), is labelled M1. The second material,
which is more complex and has properties like different temperatures and phase lags, is labelled M2
and is known as transversely isotropic piezo-visco-thermoelastic with two-temperature and three-phase-lag (TPVH). A plane P or SV wave comes from medium M1, causing two mirrored waves and
four nearly transmitted waves. Magnitude ratios are found in closed form with suitable welded boundary of the media. These magnitude ratios are affected by different wave features and the properties of
the materials. These known ratios are used to find the energy ratios of different mirrored and transmitted waves. The measured energy ratios are shown in pictures to help to understand how viscosity affects
a specific model. Here are a few important cases provided. This issue is very important in areas like hydrology and earthquake engineering. |
