Abstract Wear and tear of the moving parts of compound pendulum jaw crusher causes deterioration of the crusher’s working condition, and in serious cases, leads to failure of the moving mechanism and damage to the equipment. However, during the study of compound swing jaw crusher dynamics, the traditional kinematic gap joint contact model ignores the effect of wear and does not analyse the effect of wear on the dynamics of compound swing jaw crusher. By constructing a wear model of the moving parts of a compound pendulum jaw crusher with cylindrical hinge clearance under load, the wear characteristics of the moving parts of the compound pendulum jaw crusher are investigated under different rotational speeds and loads. Firstly, the FLores contact force model and the Ambrósio friction force model were used to establish the contact force model of the moving partner between the eccentric shaft and the moving jaw bore, Secondly, a wear prediction model for the moving parts of compound swing jaw crusher with cylindrical hinge gap is established based on Archard wear model, Finally, the dynamic model of the crusher was established by Lagrange method to analyse the dynamic characteristics of the crusher under different eccentric shaft speeds and loads. As the eccentric shaft speed increases and the load increases, the wear area of the moving parts of the compound swing jaw crusher gradually increases, the wear uniformity decreases, and the wear irregularity of the moving parts increases; Considering the wear characteristics of the moving parts of the compound swing jaw crusher under different loads, the speed of the eccentric shaft of the crusher needs to be set according to the compressive strength of the bulk material of the feed ore.
