Abstract |
The equilibrium problem of an elastic body with flat base and rounded edges on an inclined
half-space of the same material in a gravity field is investigated. The equations determining the borders
of the contact region and partial slip and stick subregions are stated. The influence of the mechanical
and geometrical characteristics of the interacting bodies and friction coefficient on the structure of the
contact region and angle of rotation of the elastic body due to deformations are analyzed. The graphs
of the contact normal and shear stresses are plotted for various inclinations of the base and positions
of the body’s center of mass. The condition of the slipping of the body is obtained and discussed. |
