Title Estimation of the Geomechanical State of the Marginal Zone of a Coal Seam Containing a Flimsy Layer
Author(s) N.V. Cherdantsev (Federal Research Center of Coal and Coal Chemistry, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, Kemerovo, 650000 Russia, nvch2014@yandex.ru)
Abstract A model of the geomechanical state of a coal-rock mass, containing in-seam working is developed for reliable estimation of the geomechanical state of a coal seam, containing a layer with lower strength characteristics compared to those of the seam. It is based on the fundamental principles and approaches of deformable solid mechanics and is implemented by the method of boundary integral equations. A computational experiment is performed in the model for a number of mining and geological conditions of the coal deposit. Based on the analysis of the results, several features in the stress distribution in the marginal zone of the seam are identified.
Keywords rock mass, coal seam, in-seam working, limit stress zones, strength characteristics, glide lines, limit state boundary value problems
