Abstract The propagation of G-type wave in a viscoelastic stratum lying over a non homogeneous fibre reinforced elastic half space is examined with possible applications. The dispersion equation and maximum energy flow around the stratum are computed in a closed form applying the technique of infinite determinant and Laplace transform under appropriate boundary conditions. The dispersion equation agrees with the pre established results as verified by several authors. The consequences of viscosity, reinforcement and non homogeneity parameter on phase and group velocity have been accentuated through graphs.
Keywords G-type wave, fibre reinforced, dispersion equation, transform techniques, infinite determinant
