| Abstract |
Recently one has often been speaking of problems with couple
stresses. The theory in which such problems are considered is sometimes called micropolar, or the theory of Cosserat continuum [1]. In the case of elastic medium, such a theory is considered in [2].
The classical problem of deformable rigid body mechanics in terms of stresses has not been justified for a long time. (There has been no proofs of the existence theorem and other statements.) A "new statement" of the problem in stresses, where all necessary justifications were performed, was first proposed in [3], and such justifications for micropolar isotropic elastic media were first given in [4]. |
