Abstract We propose a method for determining the out-of-balance value and phase of an unbalanced rigid body rotating about a movable elastically supported axis. The novelty of the method is the source of information. We measure three successive time intervals whose sum is equal to the time of a single revolution of the rotor. Because of the displacement of the rotation axis under the action of the force of moving space, the intervals deviate from the rated values. These deviations contain complete information about the value and coordinates of the out-of-balance position.
