| Abstract |
We consider the plane and axisymmetric problems about the contact interaction between an elastic plate and an elastic half-space loaded at infinity by a uniform tensile force parallel to the half-space boundary. We assume that the plate resists extension and does not resist bending. We determine the contact tangential stresses under the plate, the plate point displacements, and the strain distortion coefficient on the half-space surface.
Similar problems were considered earlier by a different method in [1]. |
