Title Contact of two elastic cones in the presence of friction forces
Author(s) V. I. Ostrik (Kiev)
A. F. Ulitko (Kiev)
Abstract The axisymmetric problem of frictional contact between two cones is considered. It is assumed that before loading, the cones are in contact with their vertices. After loading, the surfaces of the cones come into contact near their common vertex. The integral equation on the semiaxis with a difference kernel is obtained. The equation is solved by its reduction to the Riemann boundary-value problem for analytic functions. An explicit expression for the contact stresses is found.

A similar problem for the frictional contact of two elastic wedges was considered in [1] for the case of plane strain.
