Abstract |
Deformation, fracture, compression diagrams, and elastic compliance of compound piezoelectric transducers are investigated. Characteristic points of the compression diagram that correspond to the mechanical stress due to coming against a limiter in a clearance space and crushing of micro asperities, ultimate strength for compression with formation of microcracks along the edges of the piezoelectric plates, ultimate strength for compression, and mechanical stress due to elastic fracture are determined. The mechanical and control parameters are calculated for a compound piezoelectric transducer to be utilized as a piezoelectric actuator for nano-range displacements. Static and dynamic characteristics of the compound transducer are determined. |
