Title An exact solution of the mixed elasticity problem in a quarter-space

Abstract An exact solution is constructed for the elasticity problem in a quarter-space with stresses prescribed on one of its faces and displacements on the other. The method for the construction of the exact solution consists in transforming the Lamé equations to an equation which can be solved independently and a system of two equations which should be solved jointly; then, by an integral transformation, the problem is reduced to a one-dimensional boundary-value problem for a vector-valued function and the latter is solved by known methods.
