Title Bingham medium as an object of investigation

Abstract We give a brief historical review of the development of concepts regarding mechanical properties of Bingham media and their mechanical models used for the investigation of flows of such media in hydrodynamic sense. We introduce the notion of aggregative states of Bingham media relating their rheological properties and their internal stress state. We propose criteria for the identification of aggregative states of Bingham media.
