Title Limiting capabilities of layered media subjected to acoustic waves

Abstract We investigate problems of optimal synthesis of layered structures subjected to acoustic waves. The set of design materials is assumed discrete. We study the possibilities for creating effective methods for the design of optimal layered structures realizing their limiting capabilities with respect to a prescribed set of properties. On the basis of a qualitative investigation of necessary optimality conditions related to nonlocal variations of control parameters, we establish certain extremal relations which characterize the mutual dependence of the parameters of optimal acoustic structures. These extremal relations can be used for an effective analysis of limiting capabilities of layered structures to control energy characteristics of acoustic waves.
