Title On the stress state in a drawing process with axially symmetric deformation
Author(s) M. Ya. Brovman (Tver)
Abstract To make a suitable choice of technological regimes for such processes as drawing or pressing cylindrical workpieces, it is necessary to know the distribution of stresses and strain rates in the material subjected to deformation. Such problems have been mostly solved in the case of plane strains [1-3], whereas the calculations for the case of axially symmetric strains encounters considerable difficulties. A solution is known for the problem of flow of a deformable medium in a conical cavity with straight flow lines passing through the origin [1, 2]. In the present paper, we consider strains whose intensity decreases away from the zone of active compression of a cylindrical workpiece and the motion of the cylinder is nearly translational along its axis of symmetry.
