Title On the influence of the bandwidth of uniaxial channels on the stability of a triaxial forced gyrostabilizer
Author(s) S. A. Chernikov (Moscow)
Abstract We analyze the stability of a triaxial forced gyrostabilizer the channels of which are coupled due to viscous friction in the precession axes of the gyros, as well as due to the dependence of the control signals of the gyros on the angular motion of the stabilized platform relative to the axes parallel to the precession axes of the gyros.

The influence of the coupling of uniaxial stabilization channels accounted for by the aforementioned factors on the stability of a triaxial forced gyrostabilizer was investigated in [1-5]. For triaxial forced gyrostabilizers with a narrow band of the uniaxial channels, the destabilizing effect of this coupling turned out to be insignificant. However, as has been shown in [5], for triaxial forced gyrostabilizers with a broad band of the uniaxial channels, the destabilizing effect can exceed the stability margins necessary to provide the required stabilization performance for the uniaxial channels.

In the present paper, we show that the reduction in stability of the triaxial gyrostabilizer (as compared with the uniaxial one) with the increase in the bandwidth of the uniaxial channels is the case also for a system with non-orthogonal arrangement of the gyros. A simple analytical expression for the stability reduction ratio of the triaxial gyrostabilizer as compared with the uniaxial one is obtained for a particular case of the arrangement of the gyros on the platform.
