Abstract The impact interaction without separation between a flexible rotor and a rigid stator is analyzed in the framework of the plane model based on the equations of motion in Cartesian coordinates and the Hertz, Rivin, and Gerstner relations. It is shown that there are critical values of the system parameters at which the so-called asynchronous rolling of the rotor on the stator arises.
