Title Nonlocal contact of rough bodies with an elliptic contact area
Author(s) A. S. Kravchuk (Minsk)
Abstract A nonlocal theory of contact interaction of rough bodies with an elliptic contact area is developed for the cases of elastic, plastic, or elastoplastic deformation of the roughness. Using the method of iterations, a number of approximate solutions of the contact problems for rough bodies are constructed in the case when the contact area is elliptic or circular, as well as in the case when the contact area is a band. The specific feature of the formulation of the problem and the results of its solution demonstrate a significant role of the properties of the surfaces of the interacting bodies in forming the contact area in the case of weak loads.
