| Abstract |
The nonstationary two-dimensional contact problem is analyzed for an elastic cylinder (impactor) bounded by a smooth convex surface and an elastic half-space (base). To determine the contact pressure for prescribed boundary conditions in the contact region, an integral equation is constructed, whose kernel is the difference between the surface influence functions for the half-space and the cylinder. This equation is supplemented by an approximate equation for the width of the contact region (segment), which follows from the condition of intersection of the undeformed boundaries of the cylinder and the base. The equation of translational motion of the impactor as a rigid body is also used. To construct the solution of the functional system of equations, a numerical step-by-step method is proposed. Special quadrature formulas taking into account singularities of the kernels are constructed for the integrals. An iteration algorithm of refinement of the contact region is proposed and implemented numerically. An example of computations is presented. |
