Title Rheological behavior of porous media in a state of incomplete saturation
Author(s) D. V. Shevchenko (Kazan)
Abstract The thermodynamic derivation is given for rheological relations for a porous medium saturated with two immiscible fluids, the change in the surface energy and the action of capillary forces in the two-phase zone being taken into account. The first law of thermodynamics is considered for the entire system that comprises the porous medium together with the saturating liquid phases and for each of these phases separately. This enables one to establish the relationships between the strains, external loads, stresses, volume fractions, and other micro characteristics of the porous medium on the basis of the additivity of the internal energy and the expression for the surface energy.
