Title Investigation of asymmetric gyros
Author(s) M. V. Milyukhin (Moscow)
Abstract A gyro with an asymmetric rotor is considered. Lagrange's equations are utilized to establish the relationship between the parameters of a vibrating gyro and Euler's equations are utilized to establish the relationship between the parameters of a rate gyro, with the angular velocity to be measured being among these parameters. The regular precession is taken as the motion to be sustained and the gyro is assumed to be close to a symmetric one. The expressions for the torques that provide this motion allow one to evaluate the influence of these torques in terms of the order of smallness. The results obtained can be utilized for the design and assembly of gyro systems.
