Title Compression of a plastic layer by curved and inclined rough plates
Author(s) M. V. Mikhailova (Cheboksary)
Abstract Ludwig Prandtl [1] has solved a plane problem of compression of an ideal rigid-plastic layer by rough plates. Later, A. Nadai [2] extended Prandtl's solution to the case of the layer compressed by inclined rough plates as well as plates curved in the form of concentric circles. R. Hill [3] suggested the solution of the problem of indentation of a rod in the form of shell subject to compression. Some generalizations of Prandtl's problem to the cases of axisymmetric and 3D flows were given in [4-7]. The flow of plastic layer between rough surfaces was investigated by A. A. Il'yushin [8, 9]. In [10], the problem of compression of a circular plastic layer by rough plates was considered.
